The Science of Caregiving: Bringing Voices Together

On August 7th and 8th the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) will host the Science of Caregiving: Bringing Voices Together in Bethesda, MD. This is an amazing opportunity that will bring together ideas, stories, and concepts spanning across all aspects of caregiving. You can expect to learn about the importance of caregiving, current research, as well as future directions for research, and the role of technology to improve the health of both patients and caregivers.

What You Can Expect

As a caregiver you could join roughly 1,000 researchers, advocates, providers, educators and others interested in the science of caregiving at this free event. The summit will host Gail Hunt, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Caregiving, and Dr. Laura Gitlin, Director of the Center for Innovative Care in Aging at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, to lead discussions on the:

  • Importance of caregiving across the lifespan
  • Role of technology in caregiving
  • Status of NIH-supported research
  • Current gaps in data
  • Future direction of research

The event will be held in the Ruth Kirschstein Auditorium, Natcher Building (Building 45) – at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Campus, Bethesda, MD.
